2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is joining Fox News as a contributor, the news channel announced Monday.

The former Alaska governor, whose book, Going Rogue: An American L
life, became a bestseller weeks before it was released and remains No. 2 on the New York Times bestseller list, has signed a multi-year deal to offer her political commentary and analysis across all Fox News platforms, including Fox Business Channel, FoxNews.com and Fox News Radio.

She will also participate in special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting.

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News. It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news," Palin said in a written release.

Palin will also host periodic episodes of Fox News Channel's "Real American Stories," a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010.

"Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup," said Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming.

Prior to joining Sen. John McCain on the 2008 presidential ticket, Palin was the first woman to serve as governor of Alaska, taking the oath in 2006. As governor, she worked on improving resource development, education, health and transportation and infrastructure development.

Prior to holding the office of governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council in Alaska as well as two terms as the mayor and manager of Wasilla, and worked as an oil and gas industry regulator.

:roflmao:

I hope they give that bitch some training. She doesn't fair well in interviews. She might not be half bad to the conservatives, as long as she reads from a teleprompter and doesn't have to do any thinking.

oh, the irony.

LOL....how am I not surprised.
Heck if FOX can hire retired sports players why not grab a conservative to promote their agenda.

LOL....how am I not surprised.

Because a conservative news station hired a conservative commentator.. you shouldn't be surprised. ;)

This isn't a big deal, it's just an opportunity for people to point the finger at fox again, as if everyone didn't already know fox was a conservative station. People just exploit this to try to damper Fox's resounding success, as well as Palin's. Marginalizing either hasn't worked so far, and I don't see anything changing.

Palin is going to run in 2012. Would she have any success on CNN or MSNBC? Of course not. She's getting her face on the TVs of people that will vote for her. It's only logical.

oh, the irony.

How is that ironical? What, did you reach into your bag of no thought bullshit replies and pull out the wrong one? Do you know what irony is?

Please explain.

In the era of totus, you really don't see the irony of an obama supporter mocking a conservatives supposed dependancy of a teleprompter?

That's why I find the Fair & Balanced slogan so funny.
McCain campaign adviser claims she was untruthful & inaccurate so she should fit in perfectly.
Adviser: Sarah Palin Was Dishonest, Uninformed During Campaign

(NewsCore) - John McCain???s top campaign strategist said in an interview Sunday that Sarah Palin was dishonest as the Republican vice-presidential nominee, Politico reported.
The Alaskan also struggled with basic policy issues and believed McCain chose her because it was "God's plan."
In an interview broadcast on CBS???s 60 Minutes on Sunday night, Steve Schmidt said her untruths have done long-term damage to her public image.
???There were numerous instances that she said things that were ??? that were not accurate that ultimately, the campaign had to deal with,??? Schmidt said.
???And that opened the door to criticism that she was being untruthful and inaccurate. And I think that is something that continues to this day.???
During the campaign the then-Alaska governor was asked to comment on an ethics report from her home state on an investigation into whether she had improperly used her government position.
???She went out and said, you know, ???This report completely exonerates me,?????? Schmidt said.
???And in fact, it ??? it didn???t. You know it???s the equivalent of saying down is up and up is down. It was provably, demonstrably untrue.???
Schmidt described Palin as "very calm - nonplussed" after McCain met with her at his Arizona ranch just before putting her on the Republican ticket.
McCain had planned to name Senator Joe Lieberman (I-Conn), as his vice presidential choice until word leaked, sparking what Schmidt called "political blowback" over picking the 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee, who ran with Al Gore in an unsuccessful campaign, Associated Press reported.
Schmidt said he asked Palin about her serenity in the face of becoming "one of the most famous people in the world." He quoted her as saying, "It's God's plan."
Palin has not ruled out a run for the presidency.
The interview was devoted to the release of a long-anticipated book on the epic 2008 campaign, Game Change.
The book???s authors, journalists Mark Halperin and John Heinemann, also appeared on the TV news and current affairs show and discussed key points of the campaign.
Palin's debut speech at the Republican convention won wide acclaim, but immediately afterward it was clear to McCain???s aides that she had significant deficiencies, Politico reported.
Heilemann said that even after crash-course tutorials by campaign aides following the convention, Palin was still woefully uninformed about basic policy issues.
???She still didn???t really understand why there was a North Korea and a South Korea,??? Heilemann said.
???She was still regularly saying that Saddam Hussein had been behind 9/11.???
However, Palin's spokeswoman Meg Stapleton told 60 Minutes the real story about what happened could be found in Palin's memoir Going Rogue.
"She was there. These reporters were not," Stapleton said.

In the era of totus, you really don't see the irony of an obama supporter mocking a conservatives supposed dependancy of a teleprompter?

I knew you were going to say that. I was actually in the middle of typing the last sentence of my post, and it was going to read something like "and don't post some bullshit about Obama and Biden, because that's not ironic". But, I decided not to just to see what you would say. Sure enough, out it came.

Palin could have 10 car crashes in a month and decided to be a driver's ed teacher. If anyone pointed out her driving record, some republican douche nozzle would say "but Obama had a wreck in 98." What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

What does Obama have to do with Palin performing poorly on interviews, and how is that ironic? I could be a supporter of Upper Buttcrack, that doesn't change the fact that Palin was a laughing stock across the country and world for her screw ups during news interviews, and now she is going to be working on the news. That shit is funny. They might as well get the "I like turtles" kid to be her co-anchor. She is weak, and she gives up too easily. She is a quitter, and she can't handle pressure. She is a poor pick for journalism. Fox is grabbing her because they know it will pull in more low education right wing retards.

that is my biggest issue with her, she's a fucking quitter, couldn't even work to the end of her term as governor, fucking pathetic. :loser2:

Oh the irony. An Obama supporter calling Palin a quitter. You know I heard Obama quit is fastfood job when he was 15.

Palin is very polarizing, even in the "right."

I am watching the "60 Minutes" interview with Schmidt.

Palin's ignorance is even more shocking.

I never quite understood why the leftwing media hated her with such venom. She was successful, conservative, pro-life, religous, and hot as fuck and owed nothing to the far left. Therefore, it is easy to see why there was some petty animosity. But, I don't know what she did to warrant all the hate and personal attacks. There were perverted comments made about her daughter and degrading sexist comments slung at here constantly, and not once did the strap-on wielding femininits come out in her defence. There's such a grotesque double standard in the media these days.

Well, hopefully she'll wear skirts and show some leg like that Julie Banderas broad. This should be interesting.

Roids, your post was high comedy. Your level of sarcasm is NY/NJ worthy. Well done sir.

As for Palin joining Fox News....I supposed it's about time.

She is going to be exposed even more than ever. So much for her run for presidency. Teabagger

That's not fair Smoothy. What newspapers and magazines do you read? Riddle me THAT! Yeah...not so easy without being prepped beforehand is it? Now everyone just lay off Sarah, OK? LEAVE HER ALONE!!!

She doesn't have a snowball in hell chance of becoming the next prez. Think about it, WTF would vote for someone so inexperienced they'd have to depend on a teleprompter to sound informed? :geewhiz:

Or a quitter

or someone who thinks we roamed the earth with the dinosaurs

or someone who believes abstinence is the only sex ed we need (How did that work out, Bristol?)

She won't be president, but who cares, she is obviously about the money and this will be a huge chunk for her. Who could blame her? Besides, the more she talks, the more she buries herself. Good Riddance

She will fit right in with that bunch of living abortions.

Palin energizes the debate and that is something I love and want. we need to have good quality discussion about what is going on without all of the rhetoric and blinders. I don't want her anywhere near the republican nomination in 2012. The idea of running her against obama in 2012 bothers me like a kerry campaign in 2004. lets not hand the reelection to a guy because he is the lesser of two evils. Im hoping a very public Palin in the republican party will cause a legitimate candidate to emerge from the republican party. Let's see a Colin Powell or Mitt Romney emerge as a candidate

What little I saw of her on YouTube and when visiting friends who were watching that crap on TV, she seems like an idiot.

What was that one interview where she offered being the governor of a state bordering Russia as her foreign policy experience? WTF!?

Oh, and George Stephanopoulos needs a punch in the face.

Steve Schmidt was McCain main strategist (basically, campaign manageer w/ Rick Davis.)

More info on Palin. Not surprising, but bizarre.

I like Colin, don't know much about Mitt, but he is a step in the right direction from what I heard on Fox and 60 minutes. If they can get a centrist repub in there I will vote for him in a heartbeat, provided certain issues are dealt with appropriately.

I think you can rest assured that we'll see Mitt again in 2012. I think he bowed out early last time because he knew the dems pretty much had 2008 wrapped up already, regardless of what repub won the primary and he didn't want to blow his full wad yet, knowing he couldn't win.

Yeah, Mitt was smart. He got out early, saved face & supported the ticket. I voted for him in the primary, and probably will again. I can't say I won't vote for Palin though. I don't think she's dumb at all. I think that's just the new tactic of the left. They latch on to the Couric interview, which was obviously bad, and will not let it go.. as if um, eh, um eh, Obama never um eh um had a bad interview. All these people discounting her as a viable candidate are fools.

They did it to GWB & have been told they tried to make Reagan look stupid, too. If Mitt get's the nomination something tells me he'd be painted as the "dumbass whacko Mormon".

And I would never vote for Colin Powell. I respect his service, but he's full of shit.

Here's the thing about Mitt: Nobody can make him looks stupid live. He's way too sharp. Being Mormon isn't enough to blind people. Obama discussed, "My Islamic Faith", and was still voted in.

Had McCain chose him as a VP, they would have won the ticket. Although Mitt is way too big government/NWO, I'd vote him over the Dems. If nothing else, he won't bankrupt us or bomb anyone.
