    Sounds like a strained tendon or muscle. I would see a doctor and make sure it recovers properly before you risk injuring it even worse.

    What time do you hit the gym? Might want to substitute the 8pm meal with something lower carb/higher protein. i like to eat cottage cheese, nat PB, or almonds before bed. Veggies are a good choice too. I def would avoid bananas so late in the day.

    Lots of protein in steamed veggies? After lifting, I immediately have a protein shake then about an hour later a large meal.... Usually chicken, or beef, broccoli and cauliflower, and whole wheat pasta or rice.

    If you want to get leaner and have more definition in your abs, you need to either A: Eat less, or B: Burn more calories. So if you aren't looking to change your diet, then it looks like its option B. So it doesn't really matter what exercise you do, as long as your are burning more calories...
