Arggg... at 135 lbs and 5'10 I highly doubt you have a lot of 'fat' anywhere to burn!
Have you been checked out by a doctor? You THINKING you need to loose weight at your weight is NOT a good sign....
Good nutrition, good training and SOME cardio (probably NOT just after lifting) is what you need. Being 17 you DO NOT need to be doing anything strict - your natural levels of growth hormone and testosterone should do most of the work for you! These will NATURALLY let you put on lean mass (and change your body for the better) if you let them!!
How is this diet for the goals up there ^
-breakfast--protein shake.
-snack--dry total cereal with strawberries
-lunch--salad with cottage cheese(lowfat?)
-snack--carrots an ranch dressing
-dinner--idk.
To put it bluntly - CRAP.
You want CARBS and FOOD and PROTEIN and FATS and... ummm.. FOOD!!!
You will waste away ALL your muscles with that type of starvation routine and you will look like a sickly, weak, fat-clad, 'skinny-fat' skeleton.
EAT MY BOY!! EAT!!!
Something like:
Breakfast - OATS (BOWL OF THEM) topped with berries, skim milk and some walnuts with some whole egg(s) and egg whites scrambled on the side
Morning tea - Home made meal replacement shake with oats, skim milk, protein powder, and natty PB.
Lunch - Salad with tuna/chicken, brown rice and LOTS of vegetables.
Afternoon tea - Oats, total cereal, cottage cheese and strawberries
Dinner - Some meat and vegetable combination.
whey protein shake and spoon of honey a while before workout?
workout = lifting then cardio on bicycle for 60 min
Workout about an hour after one of your normal meals and save the whey for POST workout!! Dump the honey and add some skim milk and a banana to the shake instead.
If you want to gain muscle DO NOT cycle for 1 hour after your training. TRAIN HARD. Then have your shake and go home.
Do SOME cardio (2 to 3 days of something you ENJOY doing - such as playing ball with some friends or going for a walk somewhere) at some other stage during the week is all you need.
At your age you DO NOT need this type of thing... And ESPECIALLY not when you are so underweight (boardering on anorexic)....
