Another Fat Burning one.(supernoob)

I am 17, 5'10", and about 135 lbs. I want to burn fat all around. Legs, ass, arms, stomach area. This does make it a lil more complicated but I wanna build muscle as well. Does doing heavy lifting then cardio after work well?

How is this diet for the goals up there ^
-breakfast--protein shake.
-snack--dry total cereal with strawberries
-lunch--salad with cottage cheese(lowfat?)
-snack--carrots an ranch dressing
-dinner--idk.

whey protein shake and spoon of honey a while before workout?
workout = lifting then cardio on bicycle for 60 min
 
holy crap man, you'll get no where with that diet, i suggest you read the stickies at the top of the forum. You need protein and tons more food to grow, at 135, I doubt you have much fat to lose, If you gain weight, muscle that is, the fat you have will become much less noticeable, trust me, It looks to me that you have about a 1000 calorie diet there, that is near starvation. A good website to get you started is www.fitday.com join that site, and calculate how much you eat on an average day. Your in for a big letdown if you workout hard and only eat what you are eating.
 
I kno i dont eat a lot its not that i plan on it i just dont usually feel like eating in the morning. That crappy diet i posted up there is not what i do i was wonderin what ude think tho.
Anyways im a lil confused about what i should eat to burn fat and gain muscle. I kno theres stuff posted all over the forums but could u plz gimme an example of a good diet. Somethin short an simple jus so i can see. thx.

Arggg... at 135 lbs and 5'10 I highly doubt you have a lot of 'fat' anywhere to burn!

Have you been checked out by a doctor? You THINKING you need to loose weight at your weight is NOT a good sign....


Good nutrition, good training and SOME cardio (probably NOT just after lifting) is what you need. Being 17 you DO NOT need to be doing anything strict - your natural levels of growth hormone and testosterone should do most of the work for you! These will NATURALLY let you put on lean mass (and change your body for the better) if you let them!!

To put it bluntly - CRAP.

You want CARBS and FOOD and PROTEIN and FATS and... ummm.. FOOD!!! :rolleyes:

You will waste away ALL your muscles with that type of starvation routine and you will look like a sickly, weak, fat-clad, 'skinny-fat' skeleton.

EAT MY BOY!! EAT!!!

Something like:
Breakfast - OATS (BOWL OF THEM) topped with berries, skim milk and some walnuts with some whole egg(s) and egg whites scrambled on the side

Morning tea - Home made meal replacement shake with oats, skim milk, protein powder, and natty PB.

Lunch - Salad with tuna/chicken, brown rice and LOTS of vegetables.

Afternoon tea - Oats, total cereal, cottage cheese and strawberries

Dinner - Some meat and vegetable combination.

Workout about an hour after one of your normal meals and save the whey for POST workout!! Dump the honey and add some skim milk and a banana to the shake instead.

If you want to gain muscle DO NOT cycle for 1 hour after your training. TRAIN HARD. Then have your shake and go home.

Do SOME cardio (2 to 3 days of something you ENJOY doing - such as playing ball with some friends or going for a walk somewhere) at some other stage during the week is all you need.

At your age you DO NOT need this type of thing... And ESPECIALLY not when you are so underweight (boardering on anorexic)....
 
lol thx for the diet help an stuff. About the salad tho. Did u mean with dressing too? i hope. Like olive garden dressing that stuff is goood.

Arggg... What is it with you American peoples and salad dressings??!! :hmmm: It is like you have to hide the taste of vegetables!! VEGIES TASTE GOOD!! :nanner: You should try them sometime!! You might surprise yourself! :D

If you REALLY must add stuff then why not create your own dressings??!! Much healthier for you and you can do all sorts of neat combinations with fat less lard-enduxing effects... Things like lime or lemon juice, vinegar, salt-reduced soy sauce/tamari, herbs/spices, black pepper, and a little olive oil or walnut oil are all fine.

Because the rich, creamy, zesty taste of Ranch Dressing is so GOOD!!! :D
 
Yea guy you are crazy talking about losing fat at 135 pounds. Your body is so small that your "fat" probably looks twice as bad. Hard to explain. Carrots and ranch ha. Start eating your body will look better when you are in your 20's and actually have a real frame that doesnt weight in at a whopping 135 pounds. You better eat more or the wind is going to blow you away.

Lettus does not taste as good as you said it does Emma. We are Americans dont like to eat like rabbits. However drenching a salad in ranch is probably a bad idea. I hope that this guy who started the thread is atleast using fat free ranch.

Only coz you are not used to it. I know ppl that dont like the taste of water :rolleyes: and must have soda (pop) with a meal.

ff salad dressing are crap. they reduce the fat and up the sugars
 
Today for breakfast i had some eggs and toast and a lil oatmeal. About 1.5 or 2 hrs later i had a protein shake with milk. For lunch i had salad and chicken. When I got home i had another protein shake and later had some vegetables(a baked potato too). <---is it crap or ok. I didnt get hungry in between times exept for right now im starting to get hungry.
 
Ummmm... I think you still need to eat more.
 
Deffinately still below your calorie needs!!! Remember feed your muscles and they'll grow into fat burning machines!!!

I'm not too sure about Baked Potatoes, I eat them as a PW meal but only with protein (tuna, cottage cheese) to bring down their GI value.......Could anyone comment on Baked Potatoes? Good Bad idea.....
