Have i totally screwed myself?

im a freakin thickskull now that im old enough to relize it. i started workin out at 14 cuz i was like 5'9 n only 135 lds, seriously. and i was the type who strayed away from weak areas like a dumass and now that my arms are freakin strong, its so hard for my chest to grow cuz my arms do all the dam work when im benchin, what can i do?
 
dude.... theres no way your arms are doing all the work. The primary muscle in bench is chest, and triceps are secondary.

Do some incline flys.
 
1. stop training arms......
2. Pre exhaust the muscles......flys first then bench
 
Yeah, stop training your arms and add in some isolation work for your chest.
 
why would he need to stop training arms? why cant he keep training arms and isolate his chest at the same time?
 
what about compound chest movements where arms are secondary while eliminating the isolation work?

If you are doing: Bench press, Inclinf Press, Militayr/Db press, Barball/Db rowing ect your arms are getting huge amounts of work.

The point is he has an imbalance in his physique. He can correct this by leaving the overpowering muscle at the same size while increasing the size of the underpowered muscle. Otherwise he is probably going to have a hard time catching up.

umm.... thats good advice if its his back that was way bigger than his chest. i see no reason to stop hitting arms, arms are a waaay samaller muscle than the pec. I say just focus on new ways of targeting your Pecs and if your arm routine is good keep it up :thumb:
