I am eating a balanced diet. the diet avereages about 33/33/33
I am taking a supplment shake twice daily and it has micro nutrients and vitamins. I also eat one balanced meal a day lean protein veggies and carbs. I recently did a two day Cleanse (fast) followed by two days of 1000 calorie days. I felt like I was going into ketosis last night headache and bad breath. I tested this AM and I was showing moderate ketones.
some basic stats 50Y/O male currently 250 was 262 and higher in the past.
according to the "charts" I should lose weight @ 2500 calories, I dropped to 1600-1800 and lost 2 pounds in two weeks.
then one week 1325 caloris lost a couple pounds.
Last weekend I did the "cleanse" (fast) followed by the two 1000 calorie days. dropped 3 pounds. Can assume water and glycogen is some of that.
Curently I am averaging 35 minutes a day on a bike @13.5 MPH weight lifting one day a week.
I have a couple of questions If I am restricting calories and eating a balanced diet. I assume the caloric deficit has to get replaced from my own body either by burning fat or Muscle or both.
The Doctor tells me that with his program and eating 1000 calories a day my body will not go into starvation mode and burn fat and not muscle
due to the micro nutrients and supplements in the shakes and program.
So Far on thes program I have lost 11 pounds in a month. I have noticable body changes. I just posteda 1 month progress photo in my Journal.
Any opinions out there?
