I've been off cycle for about a year now, I found out I had a small pituitary tumor so I'm not sure if I'll ever be cycling again even though I'd to in a way. I'm 26 and I still lift to stay in shape however I'm not as addicted as I was when I was using the gear. I also have a serious girlfriend and see that going somewhere. Thing is I find I'm not as happy anymore and I'm even on some antidepressants as I became depressed. I wanted to blame my relationship, but there is nothing wrong with it and I have the perfect girl. I've decided it's bc I'm not so happy with myself. I figure if I could find a hobby I was passionate about it would help things or maybe I just need to really strive to grow naturally from now. I didn't notice how much of a hobby using gear became to me, I ran about 7 cycles. Now that I'm not doing that anymore it's hard to adjust. I also have a very boring but good job that keeps me sitting around the computer bored for hours so I seem to just dwell on things. Does anyone have any ideas?

You should try Meditation. Check out Shinzen Young or Jon Kabat-Zinn for good books / audio.

I switch hands and angles, I strive for perfection that makes it a hobby.

martial arts, you need to get your mind right. sadly it sound like you started using gear to early and never learned to train hard with out it.

I already have a huge chunk of cauliflower on the side of my head from my sport back in the day haha. I started cycling when I was about 23 and had lifted hard for the 4 previous years. I would've probably waited longer if I could go back but it could've been worse. What kind of martial arts do you suggest? I wanted to do MMA but opted against it bc I had a detached retina back in the day.

I must admit I really do miss the gear. Gotta be strong here though and make the right choice.

Try shooting. There are loads of competitions for firearms. Maybe even archery if shooting is not an available option for one reason or another. Both are very mental and help to develop skills that may come in handy.

And at the bare minimum with shooting it's a great way to let off some stress.

I am tired of hearing the to young to start thing. I think there is to little experience, but if everyone waited until they were 30 there would be no IFBB. His tumor could have been caused by allot of things pin pointing it to his age or saying he didnt learn to train is dumb. He says he still trains just isnt not as motivated. Many of use have got burnt out on things...

Great hobbies that I do..

Fishing, Shooting, even yard work I am competitive so i want the greenest grass and the best curb appeal in my block, i am learning how to day trade right now. Its pretty fun, I have a buddy who is retired the guys a day trading master and he will litterly say I want a new cobra today. Go day trade and more then likely make 50k to go buy it. Now granted hes putting up a couple hundred K. But he does that so often and is confident enough to win.

But there is nothing like shooting, ive done martial arts and got burnt out from injuries. Shooting to me is a blast, if I ever quiet bodybuilding i would compete in shooting for fun.

why do you think your so prone to injury? could it possible be from your muscles growing at a faster rate than your muscle tendon and ligament tensile strength? nah...

Good ideas man! Thanks! I would definitely not attribute the tumor to gear. 20% of the population has them and some don't even know. It just so happened when I got my BW I had prolactin levels just a few points higher than the normal range so they did an MRI and mine is only 2mm- the size of a pencil dot. I could probably still cycle, just with some caber but I'm gonna try to get my head straight without it. It just feels like I'm at a point in my life where I need something new to be passionate about. Ever since college I've slowly gotten a little bored and I'm a type A personality so I constantly need to do something or I get down which is where I'm at now. The day trading thing sounds really cool so maybe I'll look into that. I even considered possibly going back to school to get my masters. My job is so slow and you don't see the type rewards bc of it, it'd be nice to do something where you can get that great sense of accomplishment again. When you get so used to having it, it can be depressing when it's gone.

I'm actually a huge bowhunter, never thought of shooting competatively but maybe I'll give it a go. One thing that interests me would be to do something on the side where i could accumulate more money. I'm currently saving for a house and I think that'd be a cool way to have a hobby while producing some extra income.

I am actually a blue belt in jiujutsu from Dave Camarillo, competed way before AAS. I quit and went to bodybuilding due to having WAY to many dislocations while rolling. Those injuries also are not life threatening... Thats like telling a running back hey dont cut hard your knee may blow out if you get hit. If you ever want more then mediocrity then you do have to take risks and make decision. If your happy being normal or average then fine, but there is no scientific proof that its horrible to start young really except growth plates. Of course there is 1000 reasons why you should wait, but do you think Cutler regrets pinning? My buddy is 21 and probably one year away from a pro card kid is winning every overall show there is. Its about risk. Do you think Arnold wishes he didnt pin at what 14 and waited until he was 30? For the general concept yes 99% of kids should wait, not because all of them are not ready but because they are not mature enough to be responsible with it.

3 gun courses are a blast

I read about theoretical physics. time, space, dimensions, quantum, various theories of how things actually work. This is well over my paid grade but I still like to try.

My thing is fishing. Its a great way to get away from the family when I'm stressed and relax. Then when I get home to my chaotic household I do some shit around the house to please the wife and then I get my 2nd half of my work out on ;] . Just love life and family and pursuit of the best that you can be and you will be satisfied. :]

Cars or drag racing! Nothing like blasting down the quarter mile or putting a supercharger on your car all by yourself in your garage. Car shows are great too! You meet a lot of cool people.

A free hobby that you can start is reading. I just use my library card and try to knock out a book or two a week. We all strive for strong muscles, so a strong brain is often an afterthought. At first it may sound boring, but it is easy to get absorbed in a good book.

Me too, also chemistry, psychology, anthropology, and many other sciences.

I also write poetry, but that is with intentions of becoming an actual published poet.

If I really don't feel like reading nor writing, my favorite fallbacks are crossword puzzles while catching up on DVR'ed shows or old movies on TCM... If I can't sit still then I go walking through Waikiki which is 1/4 mile from my house.
