Which is a better exercise?

21's or bicep curls? The only reason i would do either is for football. Which one will help me get stronger and bigger better?
 
Deadlifts.
 
well to answer your question, straight bar curls are best for building size and stregnth. with that said, bicep stregnth in no way converts to the football field. you need to concentrate on the main lifts for an overall stronger body. and i know you know what they are. right now your main focus should be squats, benchpress, deadlifts, military press and pullups. you will build strength in youre arms naturally with these movements. you can throw in some bicep curls and skullcrushers and things like this for show. remember, and i told you this before, you are a ballplayer not a bodybuilder. stregnth is what you need and you need to build up those wheels. cause you are gonna take a beating as a rb

totally agree except for one thing, bicep strength is pretty important for a running back in order keep the ball tucked in while a tackle weighing twice as much as you is hanging from your arm. but you're right, that shouldnt be the main focus for a young player, overall strength should.
 
Biceps are just pretty muscles. You wanna be a badass then do the above mentioned training.
 
Squats, deadlifts, bench press.
 
Power Cleans and Push Press, along with the other basic movements already mentioned.
Deadlift is numero uno, with squats a close second.
 
I don't even know when was the last time I curled anything.

That fails almost as bad as this:

21's will require more intensity. They make you dig deep to finish the exercise. But yeah, you would be better off sticking with compound movements. Deadlifts, squats, bench.

that aint even funny. that same thing happened to stephon johnson a few years back. he was a rb at usc, it landed on his neck. he was fucked up for a while and couldnt talk for months. it really fucked up his whole career. accidents like this can happen to all of us
 
Amazingly that guy was fine afterwards.
