how to slim calves??

Hi everyone,

I have really fat bulky calves (15 inches) and i really want to reduce themby as much as i can.

I know you cannot spot reduce but would be grateful if anyone could advise the best cardio and exercises i can do to try reduce size and tone them up.

would be much appreciated!!

15" is not a bulky calf unless your upper leg is closer to 20" than it is to 25". some generally symmetry guidlines are the calves, upper arms and neck should roughly be the same diameter. and the upper leg (quads) should be 10" or greater than the calves. a nice v-taper requires a chest width of about 15-20" greater than the waist.

there is no way to "spot reduce" muscle just like with fat. to reduce muscle in an area it comes at the expense of muscle all over the body and also a loss of functional strength.
 
Why wouldn't you just make your thighs larger? Guys love curvacious big legs!

hey ! no way to slim a specific part of your body. The most you could do is just loose weight but your body still will decide where its going to store fat. But toning with a good lean diet and good work out will probably make you a little more comfortable with what you have!

you sure? i've seen arm cast comes off and their other arm is normal size and the other tiny like baby arm

I can vouch for that, ive broken both of my arms numerous times... ahh good times (its all fun and games time someone gets hurt... then its hilarious)

thats because that part of your body has been secured in a way where it has not been able to move. so yea dont use a muscle it will eventually shrink. sure you can wrap your self in a trash bag around certian parts of your body but its water and it will return quickly . but as for real results diet and spot shrinking doesnt work
 
when your arm is in a cast it shrinks because the muscles get smaller from lack of usage, as the cast comes off it will rapidly regain its size if you exercise.
As far as big calves are concerned, some women have very long and bulky calves and this is genetic, they cannot take away the muscle because they are naturally built like that and they are using these muscles everyday enough to keep them at this size. What they can do is lose some of the fat that is stored around these muscles which reduces the size and makes them "shapier"

I have 8 inch ankles biggest part of my calf is 13 inches.My nick names is chicken legs Austrich twig legs so how to get them i have no idea i was born like that but i dont work my legs and i train calfs with high reps 20-40 reps

that's called disuse atrophy caused by the immobilization of a limb, etc. the mechanism do not work the same when the muscles are being exercises and there is adequate blood flow, nutrients, etc. basically it's not the same environment.
